The Corpus Christi Mermen picked up a win at Field of the Polecats, taking down the Libertyville Polecats, 4-3. Starting pitcher Chad Bendon was a big reason why. The winner was Bendon. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Dave Leonetti. The save was credited to Josh Maughan, his 3rd.

Bobby McKeown drove in one run for Corpus Christi. With one out and the game tied in the top of the sixth inning, McKeown had a clutch at-bat. Facing Libertyville hurler Dave Leonetti, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Mermen a 4-3 lead.
