Omar Cons, who is rated as the 18th best prospect by BNN, was locked in. The right-hander led the Winchester Mountaineers to a 7-2 win against the Alcoa Millionaires at Mountaineers Park. Cons got the win, improving to 3-0. He gave up 2 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Eric Alley collected save number 1.

Zion Gilliam had a big 3-run home run for the Mountaineers in the bottom of the second inning. With Winchester leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Brian Miller and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mountaineers ahead, 4-0.

Gilliam called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."

The Mountaineers, now 9-2, have stormed out of the gates.
