The Fresno Running Rebels and Encinitas Eskimo Brothers put on a pitchers' duel.

The Fresno Running Rebels got a strong performance from pitcher Brian Norfolk, who stymied the Encinitas offense en route to a win, 2-0, at Running Rebels Ballpark. The winner was Norfolk. He threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Jose Rivera. Jordan Clayton closed the game out for Fresno, earning his 2nd save.

The Running Rebels got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jeff Valent. For the game, Valent was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Fresno a 2-0 lead.
