Suns Get Clutch Win, 8-7
|
The Aurora Suns turned back the Alcoa Millionaires, 8-7, at Suns Field. Willie Trevino, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Aurora reliever Javier Pacheco picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Danny Williams was saddled with the loss. The victory makes Aurora 5-1.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Aurora trailing 7-5, Trevino jumped on a fastball from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Danny Williams and hit a 3-run home run to right-center. With one swing, the Suns had a walk-off win.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Alcoa manager Victor Gonzalez.
