The Fresno Running Rebels beat the Alcoa Millionaires, 8-7, at Alcoa Grounds. The Running Rebels got a fine performance from catcher Ronnie Riemenschneider, who went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Fresno reliever Dennis Gronewold picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Vince Silcox was tagged with the loss. The win gives Fresno a record of 2-1.

In the top of the seventh, Riemenschneider put his team in front with his 1st home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came against Vince Silcox, made it 8-5, Fresno.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Riemenschneider told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
