Despite a fine performance by third baseman Matt Flanders, the Mesa Razor Sharks lost to the Rohnert Park Cougars, 12-6. Flanders went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Kyle Yearwood was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Isiah Key. The loss lowers the Mesa record to 2-1.

Kevin Garber had a big 2-run double for the Cougars in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Rohnert Park leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Nick Beaton and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cougars ahead, 5-2.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Garber.
