Denver Pilots pitcher Tom Rise was in fine form, leading his team past the New Rochelle Purple Wave, 7-1. Dante Ramos nailed down his 1st save. The 4th-place Purple Wave have dropped 4 straight games.

The Purple Wave had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Pilots going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old shortstop John Anderson came to the plate. Anderson hit a 3-run home run on a 2-1 fastball from New Rochelle hurler Chris Zuniga. It was Anderson's 1st home run of the year.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Rise.
