The Hickory Crawdads had to overcome a good performance from Fremont pitcher Nate Briceno to claim a 3-2 win at Hedgehogs Ballpark. Briceno went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The 'W' lifts Hickory's record to 23-19.

John Lopez had a direct impact on the outcome. Lopez contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Hickory up, 3-2.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Lopez.
