A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Spokane Selects and Ann Arbor Z's.
Good production from second baseman Curtis Rittenberry helped the Spokane Selects topple the Ann Arbor Z's, 9-2. Rittenberry hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5 for the Selects. Mike Watts closed the door for Spokane, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Rittenberry contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Spokane in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Rittenberry took a fastball from Chris Lockner and stroked the home run to right-center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Selects to leap in front, 4-2.
"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager Bryan Gallegos.
Spokane has won 3 straight, while Ann Arbor has lost 3 in a row.
