The New Rochelle Purple Wave downed the Quebec Aces, 5-4, at Belmont Park. The Purple Wave were led by Danny Haessly. Haessly went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. Blake Banks, 1-3, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. The save was credited to Gabe Sprung, his 8th.

Had Haessly not come through in the top of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Haessly hit a run-scoring single. The Purple Wave took the lead, 5-4, and never looked back.

"It never gets old," said Haessly. "Winning, that is."

Today's win puts New Rochelle at 20-16, while Quebec falls to 17-19.
