Fighting Quakers Prevail, 4-2, Over Palm Springs
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Quebec Fighting Quakers and Palm Springs Heat.
Carlos Carachure pitched well, but the Palm Springs Heat still fell short, losing, 4-2, to the Quebec Fighting Quakers at Toros Ballpark. Chris Huyard earned the win, while 26-year old right-handed pitcher Carlos Carachure took the loss for Palm Springs.
The Fighting Quakers got a big at-bat from left fielder Tyler Lake. For the game, Lake was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Quebec a 2-0 lead.
Quebec manager Jeff Gray was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
The Fighting Quakers now have a mark of 22-12.
