Keith Jong, who is tied for 9th in the StC in innings pitched with 45.1, was terrific for the Walnut Park Bobcats in his team's 7-0 triumph over the Spokane Selects. His performance earned Jong rave reviews. Jong yielded no runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 5-2. The triumph puts Walnut Park at 18-17 for the season.

Ron Cardwell hit a bases-clearing double off Danny Cusack in the bottom of the second, which put the Bobcats in front, 3-0. In addition to the double, Cardwell had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5.

Cardwell called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
