The Spokane Selects went down to defeat to Chris Hawes and his Orono teammates. The final score was 4-2, in favor of the Oaks. Matt Williams picked up the save for Orono, his 10th of the year. The loss makes Spokane 20-15.

Orono third baseman Regis Roper helped the Oaks go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Roper hit a run-scoring single off Spokane pitcher Mike Brown.

"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Roper, cracking a smile.
