Hernandez Helps Crawdads Defeat Oaks, 9-2
|
The Hickory Crawdads pinned a convincing loss on the Orono Oaks, 9-2, at Crawdad Park. Fred Hernandez was a main factor in the win. He went 2-3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5 for Hickory. Dustin Patton earned the win to go to 2-3. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work. With the win, Hickory goes to 21-13, while the Oaks fall to 23-11.
With two out in the bottom of the third, Billy Totten put Hickory in front, 2-0, with a 2-run single. The Crawdads went on to win the ballgame.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Hickory manager Ray Sanchez.
