The Westwood Bruins stymied the Denver Pilots, 4-2, at Pilots Ballpark. Brian Massey had a good day at the plate. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Westwood. The Bruins improved their record to 13-19 by beating Denver.

Westwood used a well-timed hit by Brian Hendrix to capture the win. The second baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bruins ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Massey told a Westwood Gazette reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
