Westwood defeated New Rochelle, 8-4, in large part due to top prospect Dale Day. Day drove in 4 runs. The right fielder had 1 double and 1 home run for the Bruins. Chris Porter snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. The win gives Westwood a record of 11-13.

Day contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Westwood in the top of the second. With his team trailing 3-1, Day took a slider from Jason Thompson and stroked the home run to right. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Bruins to leap in front, 5-3.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Day told the Westwood News.
