The Westwood Bruins picked up a win at Jackie Robinson Stadium, knocking off the Hickory Crawdads, 4-1. Starting pitcher Preston Todd was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Todd, now 2-1. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 9. The Crawdads drop to 9-10 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2023 season.

In the bottom of the fifth, Hugo Quiles delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 1st, the Westwood second baseman hit a 2-run home run, putting the Bruins in front, 4-1.

"When Preston is on, he can really move the ball around," said Westwood manager Nate Hendrickson.
