Purple Wave Sneak By Z's, 3-2
The New Rochelle Purple Wave found a way to sneak past the Ann Arbor Z's, 3-2, in 10 innings. New Rochelle pitcher Pat Daughtry, for one, had a standout performance. New Rochelle reliever Gabe Sprung picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Salvatore Barajas took the loss. New Rochelle, now 9-5, has played well in the early going.

The Purple Wave procured the win, in large part because of third baseman Travis Stroupe. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said New Rochelle skipper Brent Boudreau. "I can't complain."
