Ann Arbor Drops Another One, 5-4
Quebec center fielder Brian Gates contributed significantly to his team's 5-4 win over the Ann Arbor Z's. Gates, who leads the StC in triples with 2, went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Aces. Chad Bendon, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-1. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Quebec is off to a hot start at 9-4.

Quebec used a well-timed hit by Humberto Castano to capture the win. The third baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Aces ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.

"Both teams played hard," said Quebec manager Elias Nunez.
