New Rochelle third baseman Gabe Garza made his presence felt in the 10-3 Purple Wave triumph over the Spokane Selects. Garza hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The winning pitcher was Chris Verellen. He tossed 109 pitches over 6.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. New Rochelle goes to 8-3 with the win.

New Rochelle got a big at-bat from Ft. Myers Shores, Florida native Eric Blanset, who in the bottom of the second hit a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Purple Wave ahead, 3-0.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said New Rochelle manager Brent Boudreau.
