Bruins Pull Out Late Win, 3-2
|
Westwood beat Spokane at Selects Ballpark, eking out a 3-2 win. The triumph was primarily due to designated hitter Paul McComas. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Chris Fitzsimmons in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Danny Wagner took the loss. The win takes Westwood to 6-3.
McComas had a timely hit for Westwood in the top of the eighth. With Westwood trailing 2-1, he turned a 0-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 3-2, Westwood.
"I was a little disappointed," said Spokane manager Chris McLure. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
