Crawdads Win, 6-4, Versus New Rochelle
The Hickory Crawdads withstood an impressive performance by New Rochelle designated hitter Malcolm Babcock to defeat the Purple Wave, 6-4, at Ballpark of Lexington. Babcock went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Hickory pitcher Cameron Outlaw got the win. He's now 1-0. Bobby Gang was tagged with the loss. Brian Aldridge earned the save for Hickory.

Hickory used a timely hit from Josh Botello to get the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Crawdads ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Crawdads manager Ray Sanchez.

At 4-2, the Crawdads have played well so far.
