Ballpark of Joilet was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.

In a tight tilt between the Lubbock Stampede and the Joilet Jesters, Juan Barron was the deciding factor. The Lubbock right-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. Barron, now 8-7, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing no runs.

Brian Phillips, who is rated as the 94th best prospect by BNN, had a direct impact on the outcome. Phillips contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Lubbock up, 2-0.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Phillips.
