Lasers Lose, 4-2, in 12

Despite a great performance by Nashville center fielder Lee Peck, the Chesapeake Tailgators defeated the Lasers by the score of 4-2 in 12 innings at Lasers Ballpark. Peck went 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. Chesapeake reliever Logan Evans was the winner. His record is now 4-0. The losing pitcher was Mike Trivett. Chesapeake, now 61-83, holds down 5th place in the Stars Conference East Division.
Trey Maughan, who is tied for 10th in the SC with a .283 batting average, contributed to the Chesapeake win with a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Maughan.
