The Nashville Lasers topped the Montreal Royals, 4-2, in Stars Conference action at Turtles Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Nashville pitcher Mickey Ferrell. Ferrell yielded 2 runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 10-7. Nelson Martinez earned the save, his 10th in 11 tries.

Nashville used the bat of Akihide Sera to get the win. The second baseman spanked a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Lasers ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it altered the outcome.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Ferrell.

With the win, Nashville upped its record to 77-66.
