Behind a fine performance from Gregg Dier, the Lubbock Stampede knocked off the Nashville Lasers, 4-1. Dier went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk for the Stampede. Stephen Stride, the winner, is now 13-7. He struck out 6 and walked 0 over 6 innings, while allowing 1 run on 5 hits. Vicente Perez converted his 1st save in 2 tries.

Lubbock used a well-timed hit by Nolan Lazarus to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Stampede ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Lazarus.

The Stampede lead the Stars Conference West Division by 4½ games.
