The El Paso Chupacabras eked out a 2-1 win versus the Joilet Jesters at Chupacabras Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Jesus Fernandez. He was terrific. In 7 innings, Fernandez surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Gabe Calloway closed the game out for El Paso, earning his 1st save.

El Paso went in front, 2-1, on Aharon Kroyan's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Kroyan hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Joilet pitcher Adam Werth visibly perturbed.

"Jesus made the big pitches when he needed to," said El Paso manager William Maysonet.

With the win, El Paso pushed its record to 67-60.
