In a low-scoring tilt between the Nashville Lasers and the Laredo Ghosts, 25-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Avila was the difference-maker. The Nashville right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Picking up the save was Reynaldo Beltran. He's now 8 for 9 in save chances. Nashville currently is in 4th place in the Stars Conference East Division at 65-62.

Gregg Carter, who is tied for 4th in the SC in total bases with 220, had a direct impact on the outcome. Carter contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Nashville up, 2-0.
