The Portland Mad Ants withstood a fine game by Lubbock pinch hitter Ethan Patton at Reagor Dykes Stadium, to upend the Stampede, 8-6. Patton went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Earning his 21st save of the year was Dane Roberts. Portland, at 78-50, sits in second place in the Stars Conference West Division.

In the top of the seventh inning, left fielder Brian Brewer delivered a key hit for the Mad Ants. With Portland trailing 6-5, he ripped a solo home run.

"There's so many different ways you can win a game," said winning manager Will Berman.
