Portland beat Lubbock at Reagor Dykes Stadium, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder Brian Brewer. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Dane Roberts earned save number 20 this season. Portland occupies second place in the Stars Conference West Division at 77-50.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Brewer delivered big-time for Portland, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Rick Ways. The game-changing hit put the Mad Ants on top, 6-5.

"This win gets us that much closer to where we want to be," Brewer said in postgame remarks.
