Laredo got a valiant performance from pitcher Vic Lucero, but it wasn't enough to beat the Fremont Marshalls. Fremont won the game, 3-2. Lucero threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Stuart Taylor was the winner in relief. His record is now 4-1. The losing pitcher was Ethan Yarbrough. Fremont is now 82-43.
In the bottom of the tenth, Luis Lomeli had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a run-scoring sacrifice fly to center off Laredo pitcher Ethan Yarbrough.
"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Laredo manager Josh Miller.
