Stampede Score Late to Beat Marshalls, 3-2
|
The Lubbock Stampede, despite a fine performance by Fremont pitcher Terence Rodda, grabbed a 3-2 win at Reagor Dykes Stadium. Rodda allowed no runs over 6 innings. Lubbock reliever Nick Wolfe got the win, raising his record to 6-3. Jeremiah Porter was tagged with the loss. Paul Garcia notched his 2nd save of the season.
Hiromichi Sato drew 2 walks in 4 plate appearances for Lubbock. With no one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Sato had a clutch at-bat. Facing Fremont hurler Jeremiah Porter, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Stampede a 3-2 lead.
Sato said his team "played with determination."
The loss makes Fremont 74-40.
