The umbrellas came out during the Hartford-Montreal contest at Oilers Ballpark.

The Hartford Matadors defeated the Montreal Canadiens, 8-4, in part because of catcher Eric Clayton. Clayton went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Matadors. Manuel Angloma picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Huang Chai was tagged with the loss.

Hartford took control in the top of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, Phil Bohler hit a 2-run single to make it 4-2, Matadors.

"Winning never gets dull," said Bohler.

The Matadors, at 52-56, sit in last place in the Stars Conference West Division.
