Javier Brito had a good game, but he could not keep the Lubbock Stampede from falling, 6-5, to the Montreal Canadiens at Oilers Ballpark. The Lubbock first baseman went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the loss. The winner was Montreal reliever Jim Unknown, now 1-0. A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Stampede allowed the Canadiens to score the winning run.
