Lasers Turn Away Jesters, 6-4
|
Though he had a terrific game, Kyle Macrina could not prevent his team, the Joilet Jesters, from absorbing a loss. Nashville won the game, 6-4. Macrina went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Xavier Cooper, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 2-0. The win for the Lasers raised their record to 36-24.
It could have been a different outcome for Nashville, had it not been for Josh Engelke, the 23-year old center fielder . Engelke contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Nashville up, 3-2.
"Being in first place now is good," said Engelke. "Being in first at the end of the season is better. That's our goal."
