Canadiens Take Down Tailgators, 3-2
|
Chesapeake got a big-time effort from pitcher Melvin Gamboa, but it wasn't enough to keep the Montreal Canadiens from winning the game, 3-2. Gamboa threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Earning his 2nd save for Montreal was Felix Marquez. The win gives the Canadiens a record of 20-39.
Montreal used the timely hitting of Corey Routh to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Canadiens on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Canadiens manager . "This one was nice to get."
