Laredo second baseman Drew Riggi had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Riggi went 4-6 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, even as Lubbock beat the Ghosts, 5-4, in 13 innings. Jarrod Threats saved it for Lubbock. The win boosted Lubbock to 34-22.

Lubbock needed the clutch hitting of Hiromichi Sato to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Stampede on top, 5-4. For the game, Sato had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

"We just never give in," said Sato. "We think we've got an opportunity as long as we have an at-bat and some outs left."
