With first baseman Juan Ortega leading the charge, the Quebec Aces defeated the Nashville Lasers, 6-5, at Lasers Ballpark. Ortega, who is tied for 10th in the SC in home runs with 10, went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Quebec reliever Ryan Klinck snagged the win, upping his record to 2-0. Nelson Martinez shouldered the loss. The Aces, at 32-25, sit in 4th place in the Stars Conference West Division.
Quebec needed the clutch hitting of Chris Epstein to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Aces on top, 6-5. For the game, Epstein had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Nashville manager Kenny McElhaney. "The effort was great."
