Muskies Prevail, 6-5, Over Chesapeake
|
The Glendale Muskies had to overcome a big game from Chesapeake shortstop Andy Gatz to leave Field of the Muskies with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-5. Gatz went 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win belonged to Dylan Diggs in relief. His record improves to 1-4. Ray Clark took the loss for Chesapeake. Justin Farrell earned his 8th save, after closing out the game.
Jesse Reimann drew 1 walk in 5 plate appearances for Glendale. With two out and the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, Reimann, who leads the SC in triples with 3, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Chesapeake hurler Frank Stroud, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Muskies a 6-5 lead.
"It was our day today," Reimann told the Glendale Daily. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
The Muskies, at 20-32, sit in last place in the Stars Conference West Division.
