Stampede Use Late Rally to Win
|
Lubbock and Nashville put this game in the books despite some rain.
The Lubbock Stampede defeated the Nashville Lasers, 7-4, in Stars Conference action at Lasers Ballpark. Hiromichi Sato pulled his weight. The 9-year veteran went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Lubbock pitcher T.J. Harrison earned the win, hiking his record to 4-3. Tom Herzing suffered the loss.
Lubbock used a clutch hit from Frank Lewis to get the win. The second baseman drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Stampede ahead, 7-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We're playing like we're capable of," said Lubbock manager William Maysonet.
The Stampede improved to 30-20.
