The Lubbock Stampede downed the Laredo Ghosts, 6-2, at Ghosts Ballpark. The Stampede were led by Jose Avelar. Avelar went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Picking up the win was Sam Naber. He went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 1. The third-place Stampede go to 27-20.

In the top of the third, Avelar had a 3-run home run for Lubbock. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Stampede on top, 4-1.
