The Baxter Springs Marshals handed the Hartford Matadors a 5-1 defeat at Ballpark of Tacoma. Right Fielder Jorge Romo starred for Baxter Springs. He was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Brian Hennick in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Chris Fuller took the loss. The third-place Marshals have won 9 in a row.
Romo made an early impact for Baxter Springs when he stroked his 2nd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came in the top of the third, put the Marshals on top, 5-0.
"The guys are feeling pretty good about where they're at right now," said Marshals manager Mitsuaki Sakaguchi. "We have a lot of guys playing with confidence."
