Marshals Deal Mad Ants 5-3 Loss
|
The Baxter Springs Marshals dealt the Portland Mad Ants a 5-3 loss at Mad Ants Ballpark. Tougo Kawamoto, who is tied for 9th in the SC in home runs with 7, was the star on offense. He went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI. The second-place Mad Ants now sit at 26-16.
Had Kawamoto not come through in the top of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Kawamoto hit a 2-run single. The Marshals took the lead, 4-2, and never looked back.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Kawamoto.
