Montreal Gets Another L
|
The Nashville Lasers downed the Montreal Canadiens, 5-1, at Lasers Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Kyle Connell had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the SC in wins with 5, handcuffed his opponent all game. The losses continue to mount for Montreal, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
Pedro Rangel, who is tied for 5th in the SC in extra base hits with 16, had an important at-bat. With two out in the bottom of the fifth, he hit a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season put Nashville on top, 2-0.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Danny Mendez told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
