Mad Ants Run Win Streak to 7
|
Portland left fielder Rick Brown helped his team beat the Glendale Muskies, 4-0. Brown, who is tied for 2nd in the SC in total bases with 73, went 3 for 4 for the Mad Ants. Dane Roberts got credit for the win, improving to 4-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Portland is now 25-13, while Glendale is 21-17.
The Mad Ants got an important contribution from third baseman Tyler Welsh, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a fastball to left-center for a run-scoring double. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Mad Ants ahead, 2-0.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Portland manager Will Berman.
