Stampede Take Nail-Biter Over Lasers
Nashville got a terrific performance from pitcher John Jones, but it wasn't enough to beat the Lubbock Stampede. Lubbock won the Reagor Dykes Stadium contest, 5-4. Jones threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Juan Barron picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Joe Faulkner suffered the loss. Lubbock is in third place in the Stars Conference West Division with a record of 23-15.

The Stampede got a clutch hit from left fielder Joe Ortiz. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Stampede.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Nashville manager Kenny McElhaney. "The effort was great."
