Hinojos Powers Mad Ants to 7-2 Win
|
In the 7-2 Portland win over Fremont, the impact of Felipe Hinojos was substantial. Hinojos, who is tied for 5th in the SC in total bases with 58, was 3-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Chase Collins picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Ruben Torres was tagged with the loss. The Mad Ants now have a record of 18-15 with the win over Fremont.
Portland used the timely hitting of Jim Unknown to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mad Ants on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Hinojos.
