Marshalls Fall Short, 4-3, at Chesapeake
Fans watched the Chesapeake Tailgators and the Fremont Marshalls fight to the finish.

The Chesapeake Tailgators topped the Fremont Marshalls, 4-3, in Stars Conference action at Tailgators Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Chesapeake pitcher and Santiago, Dominican Republic, native Luis Najera. Donovan Mott snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-1 on the season. Bill Mosher suffered the loss.

Chesapeake went in front, 3-1, on Kevin Cimini's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Cimini hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Fremont pitcher Bill Mosher visibly perturbed.

"Luis had good arm action, good stuff," said Chesapeake manager Dave York.

The Tailgators, at 13-16, sit in 5th place in the Stars Conference East Division.
