Big Day for Bopp in 6-4 Marshals Win
|
The Baxter Springs Marshals dealt the Montreal Canadiens a 6-4 loss at Marshals Ballpark. Brian Bopp, who leads the SC in extra base hits with 16, was the star on offense. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Glenn Yarrington snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-0 on the season. Gabe Lopez suffered the loss. The win puts the Marshals at 23-7, while the Canadiens drop to 8-22.
Bopp had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Gabe Lopez, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Marshals a 6-3 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Bopp.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Bopp told the Baxter Springs Bulletin.
