Marshalls Slap 4-3 Loss on Laredo
|
The Fremont Marshalls knocked off the Laredo Ghosts, 4-3, in Stars Conference action at Ghosts Ballpark. Fremont pitcher and Buffalo, New York, native Mark Luby had an outstanding performance. Fremont pitcher Ruben Torres got the win. He's now 2-0. Adam Appelbaum was tagged with the loss. Fremont is now 20-7.
Fremont used the clutch hitting of Chris Quinton to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Marshalls ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Laredo manager Josh Miller.
