A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the El Paso Chupacabras and Fremont Marshalls.

Lorenzo Villarreal never let Fremont get something going. The El Paso right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Chupacabras to a 4-1 win. Villarreal, now 3-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.

Josh Kreisle had a direct impact on the outcome. Kreisle contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put El Paso up, 2-1.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Villarreal told reporters after the game.

The win brings the Chupacabras to 13-10, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
