Both teams had their chances, but the Montreal Royals eventually prevailed.
The Fremont Marshalls were defeated, 3-2, by the Montreal Royals at Hedgehogs Park, even though Adam Monteleone pitched well for Fremont. Jose Perez earned the save for Montreal, his 7th of the year.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jon Dearman? The Montreal second baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Royals on top, 3-0. For the game, Dearman had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Dearman said.
Montreal goes to 14-7.
